It is especially useful in instances where a specific, well-defined set of collection parameters are known and consistency in collection is absolutelycritical, such as when collecting features which comply to the NGA Feature Attribute Coding Catalog (FACC). GFCM is used in conjunction with Bentley MicroStation and any industry standard database (for storing attribute information). GFCM works with SoftPlotters DGN tool and seamlessly handles communication between SoftPlotter, MicroStation, and the database to ease the collection of coverages, features and attributes for a GIS product.
